gamejam submission release notes
some announcements about this release of the game:
1. the "records" system only persists between playthroughs in the downloaded version of the game, meaning your high scores are wiped in the browser once you close or refresh the tab. i will look into how to persist data from Godot games in the browser, not sure if it is possible.
2. the windows download does not work (at least on the one PC i have access to for testing). so, the mac downloadable is the only way to get the "full" experience for now. i plan on fixing this in the future.
3. the game has been only gently playtested so there may be bugs. one person was able to fall infinitely and had to restart the game, but i have not been able to figure out why this happened. let me know if you come across any bugs.
4. feel free to post your high scores here -- deepest descent (meaning the furthest down you got safely before falling to your death), or fastest descent (meaning the quickest you were able to get down to the ground without dying). note that the course is semi-random so it isn't 100% "fair", but the course is approximately 1000m from the starting point to the ground. you will hear strange music at the halfway point as an indicator of your progress. my current record is 581m, no survivals yet.
